I have mentioned in a couple of posts the man that I adore and today he sent me these two pictures of him just before he went out. I've been sick all week and he has called at least twice a day to check on me. His good friend was visiting him this weekend and they decided to go out for a boy's night out on the town... anyway, he was thinking of me and wanted to bring a smile to my face so he sent me some pictures of him looking good. He is sweet. I don't usually get a lot of pictures of him, so for him to do it out of free will... well, I know he was really thinking of me.

The balloons that never made it....
One of my lovely moms went out and bought 21 of these cute balloons for my students on Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, none of the kids were allowed to take them home because most of my students take the bus. The principal put the stop to the balloons for the bus kids because she was afraid there would be problems. I can totally understand, but those poor kids!! They were so disappointed and that poor mom... she didn't know and was just trying to do something fun and exciting for the kids!! Aw...

Living on a Prayer...
I don't know if the sound will work on this video... but these two adorable girls are singing Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi... they, of course, think that this is a Guitar Hero original song... hahaha. Their lovely moms let me take and post the video... don't get me started on how much I adore these two ladies and my other fave mom in my class... the three of them bless me each time I see them or get a note from them!! *sigh* They make me miss my life overseas a little less.
Hm... I just checked and there is no sound... DANG!! My camera sucks! But enjoy the visual anyway. hahaha

Best Gift Ever!!!
So this is my bad picture of my WONDERFUL Valentine's gift from Kelvin... it's a big basket full of spears of strawberries, melon balls, heart shaped pineapple pieces and chocolate covered strawberries. All wrapped in cellophane with a cute balloon on top and another box of chocolate covered strawberries on the side. I felt completely loved, spoiled and special! What more could a girl want for any day, any time of year?! I wish the picture had turned out better in the classroom. I'd take another but by the time I got it home, it needed to be taken apart because it kept falling over in the car. Anyway, I think I may just have the best boyfriend ever!! :)

Marriage Proposals...
Don't get all excited people, it was from the mouth of a five-year old. Yes, that's right. My first marriage proposal came from one of the WORST students in my class! hahaha
Today was one of those Mondays that started with me being grumpy and just lacking in any joy. But once the little rug-rats began to wander in, I felt so much better. Some days they exhaust me before they even get there, but today they gave me energy and reminded me about what I love about this job: THE KIDS!

Blessings and Broken Glass
Ominous title, isn't it? But it really is a summary of what I did today. I was baking part of my dinner in the oven and when I took it out, I put it on a hot electric burner. I have done this multiple times before and nothing happened but I guess the burner was hot enough and the pyrex literally exploded. I was standing about 2 inches from the stove when it happened (you can see where the blessing part of it comes in). The glass shot out for about 7 feet (some of it melting into the carpet and on the kitchen flooring). I was shocked but managed to get all the glass up, swept, vacuumed, and mopped. And I only ended up with a small cut on my finger and a small shard embedded in my heel (and that hurt BAD to pull out). So my Sunday evening ended with broken glass and, more importantly, BLESSINGS!!! I am thankful and sharing this as a lesson: Don't put that pyrex on a hot surface, they aren't as indestructable as previously thought. :)

Superbowl and other stuff...
I know, I know... it's been ages. I have to admit that I just didn't have anything fun to write about. I was pretty sure that any of my readers weren't interested in reading about how depressed I've been about finances and all of that, or how much I've been exercising or eating, or how little I like where I work or any of that... I like to keep things positive... so I just elected not to write until I got myself out of my funk and back into a positive frame of mind.
And guess what?! I'm there!! hahaha.
The only new things to report are that I'm not getting a very good refund because I am a non-resident alien (yes, punished again for being a foreigner... gotta love it), I may be moving to a new apartment and getting a roommate so that I can save some money, and I will be taking my cat back to my parents' house because my new roommate is allergic to cats.
Other than that, today I am taking part in the great US tradition of watching the Superbowl... not bad. I've become a bit of a football fan (thanks to Kelvin).
So that's all the news of late... hopefully I get a cute story out of my students sometime soon so I can add that to the mix on here! :)
